Our crew

Volunteers who show up for both calls.

The department is made up of volunteer firefighters and EMTs from in and around Manawa. When the pager goes off, the same neighbors respond, whether it is a fire in one of the rural towns or a medical call that needs the ambulance. It is a small, dependable crew covering a lot of ground along the Wolf River.

Because one group carries both jobs, every trained volunteer matters. That is what keeps fire protection and emergency medical care close to home for these communities.

Volunteer

The crew needs firefighters and EMTs.

A rural department that covers both fire and medical calls needs people trained for both. No experience is required to start the conversation. Reach out and the department can tell you what training and time it takes.
